Even seemingly simple products throw up all manner of speedbumps, roadblocks and chicanes in the design, prototyping and testing phases. You do your best to iron out as many kinks as possible during these initial stages. Manufacturing is when the fun really starts and things get a bit more real, invariably resulting in more head-scratching, jaw on the floor moments and sleepless nights. 

Putting a product (that people have handed over their hard-earned cash for) out into the wild is unnerving to say the least. And nothing puts a new product through its paces like busy chefs using it day in day out in the busiest and best kitchens around the world. 

We are extremely lucky that we have lots of loyal customers joining us on the journey - loyal because they know that we are always, always striving to be the best and if we mess up - as we do - that we will make things right without question and without delay. 

This is where we document some of that journey. Here you can see the work we do in Oui Chef Labs, where our global group of development chefs help us both virtually and in-person with ideas, product design, feedback and testing. You can see the time, effort and love that goes into taking a throwaway comment by a chef, turning it into an idea, into a design, into a prototype, into samples for testing and finally into a fully fledged product for sale that’s shipped around the world.
